Hey friend, One of my favorite films of all time is The Legend of Bagger Vance. On the surface, it’s a golf movie. But beneath that, it’s a lesson in focus, presence, and the ability to truly see what’s in front of you. The story follows Randolph Junah (played by Matt Damon), a once-promising golfer who fell short of his potential. Years later, he returns to the game, lost and out of sync. And then comes the moment that changes everything. Bagger Vance (played by Will Smith) tells him: “It’s time to see the field.” At first, Junah doesn’t get it. But Bagger Vance instructs him to watch another competitor prepare for a shot—study his movements, his focus, his presence. “He’s searching for something.” “He can feel that focus.” It’s not about mechanics. It’s not about technique. It’s about tuning into the moment. So Junah steps up for his shot. And something shifts. The noise disappears. The distractions fade away. The crowd dissolves. All that remains is the flag. This is what it means to see the field. It’s something I try to pass on to athletes. Because it's something I did (after watching this film as a kid). But here’s the thing—this level of focus doesn’t just happen in high-pressure moments. You have to train it. You have to practice it. You have to bring the field to you. Because seeing the field isn’t just about your surroundings. It’s about what happens inside your mind. So ask yourself: Can you see the people watching you? Can you feel the pressure of their expectations? Can you visualize your opponent, their movements, their decisions? And while all of that is happening— Can you still see the field? The field is not just the environment. It’s how you exist in it. Your posture. Your body language. Your thoughts. Your breathing. The way you talk to yourself. Seeing the field isn’t just looking—it’s experiencing. And when you truly see the field— You realise it's not just out there, but inside you. Quote I likedYou don’t have to change anything, but nothing will change. Recommendation for youWatch The Legend Of Bagger Vance A great heartwarming film, whether you’re a golf fan or not. Hi friend, One of my flaws has always been thinking the grass might be greener somewhere else. I’ve thought about it for a long time — to the point where it chewed me up. I’d sit with decisions for far too long, caught in the spiral of what if I waited? what if the better option is just around the corner? It held me back. For years. I struggled to make choices that felt truly mine, because I was too afraid I’d miss out on something better. That I’d commit to something good, but not great. I...
Hey friend, I’ve been thinking about progress a lot lately. Over the past year, one area I’ve seen real growth in is my gym work. I started following RP Strength on YouTube, downloaded their app, and the gains I’ve made in muscle and hypertrophy have been noticeable—to say the least. But none of it came quickly. It’s been slow, methodical, and structured. Week by week, session by session, I followed a plan. Reps went up, weight increased slightly, and over time, my body adapted. Not in days,...
Hey friend, You work for years. You sacrifice, obsess, chase. And then it happens. You win. You achieve the thing. You get exactly what you said you wanted. But then, once it’s completed and done, you suddenly feel a sense of emptiness. You’re left thinking — is this it? The glow of that ambition-fuelled, obsessive mindset—the one that carried you to the top—vanishes almost instantly. The state that once felt intoxicating is gone, and with it, the purpose that was driving you forward. You...
